1898-5-10 fire and donations Sher 2000 - - 1898-5-10 We have heard of major fires before in Minnesota, but this one seemed to hit many Jewish families because the fire was on Lake and St. Croix avenues. This is where the Kenners lived. This is about the time my great grandfather arrived in Duluth without his family. - - Several families did not have insurance. "The Hebrew people are looking after the fire sufferers of their nationality." Simon Sher was one of them.
