Lurye Furniture Company - Superior
Lurye Furniture Company was located at 1208 Tower avenue in Superior. The store was founded as H. Lurye & Sons, Harry Lurye and sons Maurice J. Lurye and Edward Lurye. Another of Harry's sons, Alexander J. Lurye started his own furniture business in Duluth named Alex J. Lurye. When the store closed in 2012, The store was later owned by Anne and Harold Grossman. It was closed when Harold decided to retire. (See the news article further down the page.) Harold was a great grandson of Honnie "Chane Reve" Edelstein and Harry Lurye and a grandson of Maurice. The following ads were published in the Superior High School yearbook in the years indicated except where noted. |
