Kaner Brothers (bum boats) - Superior

The Kaner Brothers owned and operated the service boats that sold supplies to the ships that came to the Duluth-Superior port. They were called Bum Boats. An early boat was named the Kaner II. The Marine Trader was launched in 1939 and was owned and operated by Alan Charles Kaner (1942-1986).
