Famous Clothing Company (formerly Famous Woolen Company) was a mainstay of downtown Duluth. It was located at 12 East Superior Street, a half block from Lake Avenue. The company was established by Leo Bensman and later operated by him and his cousin Julius Horwitz. "I worked in the store one summer as a teenager, in the mid fifties," said Allan.
