Superior Iron & Metal Company was located in Superior at 1965 Sixth Street. The business was established by S L Mark and S Karon in 1888. S L Mark was Samuel L Mark (1865-1944) and S Karon was Solem Solomon/Shmoul Karon (1859-1937). Samuel and Solem were brothers-in-law; Solem was married to Mamie Mushel Mark (1861-1948) and she and Samuel were siblings. |

After Solem died in 1937, the business was operated by Solem's wife Mamie Mushel Mark Karon (1861-1948) and his sons Louis Karon (1887-1952) and Harry Karon (1895-1956) according to Louis's obituary below. |

When Harry Karon was looking for a partner to help him run the company, he turned to his nephew Edmond Ed Kenigsberg (1906-1987). After Harry's death in 1954, Ed became the sole owner of both Superior Iron & Metal and Karon Oil Company. His son Stephen Kenigsberg later took over.
