Metropole Hotel / Metropole Bar - Duluth
The Metropole Hotel was located on the southwest corner of Lake Avenue and Michigan Street. It was built by Louis Loeb and was owned by Melvin Gallop in 1972 when it was closed. Louis Loeb lived in Duluth in the early 1900s and died there in 1928. His family tree data are shown below. Melvin Gallop (1923-2017) was a son of Lillian Shenowsky and Peter Gallop (1890-1961).
