The Great-West Life Assurance Company had its Head Office in Winnipeg, Canada. There were at least two Jewish men who were Representatives or Agents for the company in Duluth. The ad below shows that Isadore Crystal was their Duluth Representative in 1943. The life policy that I have shows that Harold Birk was the agent when the policy was created in 1963. Harold Edward Birk (1915-1971) was the Great West agent in Duluth who wrote a whole-life policy for me (Allan Garon) in 1963. My dad, Bert Garon, initiated the process and was the original beneficiary. The policy is for $10,000 and is still in force. The title page of the policy is shown below. The insurance police link shows the title page and three pages of the original application. |
