The Jos M Averbook Company sold wholesale general merchandise. It was located at 318 West First Street in Duluth. It was started by Joseph M Averbook in May 1916 as is described in the 1917 news article below. A couple of advertisements for the store are also shown below.

Joseph Mandel Averbook (1994-1981) was a son of Sarah Oreckovsky and a grandson of Abraham Oreckovsky. Joseph's brother Abraham B Averbook (1889-1965) was a pharmacist and owned Abby Pharmacy in Superior. Joseph and Abraham and their siblings are shown on the two-generation descendents list below.
