Anna Averbook lived to be 105 and was playing the piano as late as her 104th birthday.

She died of natural causes Tuesday at the Miami Jewish Home and Hospital for the Aged at Douglas Gardens, where she had lived for 14 years. Previously, she had lived on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach.

"She was a very loving person," said David Averbook, her son. "She was really a reformer, too. She loved to help people."

He described his mother as a health-food fanatic and devoted wife who worked with her late husband, Joseph, at his department store in Austin, Minn., and his gold-mining business in Los Angeles.

Averbook came to New York City from Russia when she was 5. Her parents later returned to Russia, and she was reared by her grandparents.

Averbook also is survived by a daughter, Anita Ravage; three grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mt. Nebo Memorial Gardens, 5505 NW Third St.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Micha Society for Deaf Children, Sherman House, 23 Reading St., Tel Aviv, Israel, 69024.
